When I was a child my father had a ongoing mantra for me:

“You can do anything you want!” he told me all the time.
Over and over again I had to listen to this wisdom even though I did not pay very much attention to it at the time. I still guess that this is where my self-confidence comes from. I really believe deep within that I can do and accomplish anything.
Leon Battista Alberti, an Italian architect from the fifteenth century did say the same thing: “A man can do all things if he but will them”
Mr Alberti proved he was right. Since he did not receive any formal architectural education, he studied on his own and developed new principles which he carried out in his work, especially on the façade of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Was he a rare exception?
So what if you cannot, no matter how hard you try?
However, I did use a big part of my life trying to fulfill this statement and accomplish what I wanted. Unfortunately, in spite of my positive belief, I often failed with no other result than chaos and disaster.
Still I am convinced that it is absolutely true that I can do whatever I want and that You can do whatever You want too! How come?
Why does it have to be so difficult?

Your subconscious mind has many concealed layers and it works like a mysterious and hidden Director that rules your life from beyond.
Before your subconscious mind can give any order to your conscious mind, it has to listen to and take into consideration many different beliefs within you, not only one.
One of my beliefs were that I can do anything I want but when I, after many years of struggling, started to investigate my own subconscious mind I found several other beliefs which were contradictory . For example, I used to believe that it was hard and difficult to do what I wanted, no one would help me, I was all alone and what I wanted was not good for me anyway.
Who knows were I got those other beliefs from. It is certainly nothing that I can remember. They might even come from past lives, who knows?
So even if I was sure that I could do anything I wanted, it had to be hard, difficult, lonely and it would not be good for me anyway. You see? Why would I bother?
That was also the typical pattern that I over and over again repeated when I wanted to accomplish something in my life. I used to struggle really hard all alone to accomplish my goals and just when I got close I suddenly stopped. Now I understand why, but at the time I did not. I just started over again working towards a new goal, repeating myself.
What can you do to make it possible to do anything you want?

You see, when I became aware of some of my hidden beliefs it made it possible for me to accept them, handle them and change them so that they suited my wishes better.
The tricky thing though, is to find all the blocking beliefs that you carry within your subconscious mind, because they are mostly very shy and deeply buried. As contradictory as it sounds, they once were created for the purpose of protecting you and if they have stayed with you, becoming negative and limiting life patterns, it is because you have not dealt with and learned from them. The longer they have been put away, the harder it will be to dig them up.
The first thing you need to do in order to be able to do everything you want, is to investigate your subconscious mind, find your negative hidden beliefs, accept them, deal with them and transform them.
This is easily said but not done over night. It will take time, daily practice and persistence, but the awards for doing so will be well worth it. Believe me, it will be amazing!
If you find it hard, I am here to help you.
Even if it took me some time to understand it, my father was right:
You can do anything you want!

I Love You! All Is Well! You Are Blessed!

Hi Lily
This is a great message. It is so easy to give up, but I find that once we start uncovering those beliefs, things really start to happen.
You are very lucky to have had such an encouraging father.
Juliet

Hi Lily,
Just discovered your wonderful blog
Love this: What can you do to make it possible to do anything you want?
I was brought up to think that and this is a great reminder as sometimes when we get olger we forget those wise words from our mentors. Like you I also had a great father who encouraged me.
